On Sunday, 12 October, Lake Palić will host the second edition of the Palić Lake Duathlon, a multisport event in the discipline of duathlon that combines two sports—running and cycling. The race is part of the Serbian Duathlon Cup, organized under the auspices of the Triathlon Federation of Serbia and the Sports Association of the City of Subotica, and represents one of the region's most important sporting events.
The event hub will be located in the Physical Culture Park at Lake Palić (the park opposite the Brvnara restaurant). The running course follows the lakeside promenade from Plaža Bar toward Petra Winery, while the cycling course takes place on a section of the Lake Palić ring road, from the football fields to the bend.
Tokom održavanja trke, privremeno će doći do obustave saobraćaja na deonici Obilaznog puta, od skretanja kod SC „Janko Pejanović“, do krivine, u periodu od 10:20 do 15:30 časova. Autobuska linija broj 6 u ovom periodu neće saobraćati pomenutom trasom. We kindly ask residents and visitors of Lake Palić for their understanding and patience during the event. We also invite all sports enthusiasts to come and cheer on the athletes.
This year's edition will bring together more than 170 athletes, marking a significant increase compared to last year, when 100 competitors crossed the finish line. The event features races across multiple age categories, from the youngest participants to seniors, and is open to both experienced athletes and recreational competitors looking to challenge themselves in this demanding yet highly rewarding sport. The event places a strong emphasis on promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging participation across all generations, and fostering equality in sport. We are especially pleased to welcome a large number of children and young athletes, while competitors from Hungary and Romania will join participants from across Serbia.
Behind the Palić Lake Duathlon is a passionate team committed to creating an event that supports the local community and helps promote Lake Palić as a destination for sports tourism.
Our goal is not simply to organize a race, but to create an event that inspires—one where people leave with a smile, eager to return, and with the feeling that they have been part of something truly special.
